Abstract

Selection of imported construction material for any construction projects are affected by some reasons and certain factors. During the design stage, architect and engineer who are the party involved have to consider many aspects and factors for selection of imported construction material in construction project. For the construction stage, there have many implications that can happen cause by selection of imported construction material in construction project. Exactly, this research is doing to identify the factors of affected demand for imported material in construction. Other than that, this research also would like to identify the implications of selection imported construction material during implements construction project. A number of 100 questionnaire forms have been distributed to industrial party which is consist 2 types of respondent there are party involve in design stage and selection of construction material those are architect and engineer and also party involve in construction process that are contractors. Outcome of analysis show the factors listed by priority which the factor demand of client is the most consideration during the selection of imported construction material, whereas for implication of selection of imported construction material show that increasing in cost have most effected during the execution of construction project.
