Abstract

This paper present the benefits of greenery in decreasing urban temperature of Johor Bahru city and the appropriate green assessment methods to be applied to achieve maximum ratio of urban green space. Therefore, this study used green plot ratio as a method in measuring the greenery in the central business district of Johor Bahru. The parameter to be considered is the leaf area index which consists of tree height, planting species, planting distance and canopy area as well as plot for building envelope. In sum, the result of green plot ratio of the site has been examined.
